There comes a point when your child looks at you with big hopeful eyes and says:

“Mum… can I have a slumber party?”

And immediately your brain goes into full panic mode.

Where do they all sleep?

How do I fit everyone in the house?

How much chaos can one lounge room handle?

Thankfully, help arrived in the form of Lemon Pie Caravan.

Anna completely transformed our space into the most magical little sleepover setup imaginable. From the moment she arrived, everything was taken care of. The mattresses, styling, decorations, cosy details.

Every single thing was beautifully thought out. What could have been stressful turned into one of the easiest and most fun parties we’ve hosted.

The best part? Watching the girls walk in and absolutely lose their minds with excitement.

It honestly felt like stepping into a Pinterest board made for six-year-olds. There were giggles, movies, snacks, matching little setups, and that kind of pure childhood magic you wish you could bottle up forever.

As a photographer behind Bilderbuch Photography by Anne Kirsch, I absolutely loved capturing all the little moments throughout the evening. The laughter, excitement, tiny details, and genuine friendships made this one of those events that was just as fun to photograph as it was to host.

If you’ve been putting off hosting a sleepover because the logistics sound overwhelming, this is your sign to do it. Having someone else create the entire experience made all the difference.

And of course, no party is complete without cake.

The amazing cupcakes from Holly, Off Piste Cakery were not only delicious, but perfectly matched the theme: Girls Just Want to Have Fun. Bright, playful, and almost too pretty to eat.

We feel incredibly lucky to have such creative local businesses here in Central Otago making celebrations this special.

A huge thank you again to AnnA, Lemon Pie Caravan for creating such a memorable experience for our little girl and her friends. I have a feeling this won’t be our last slumber party.
